STATEMENT

Shenzhen is a major city in Guangdong Province, China. Its modern cityscape is the result of its vibrant economy made possible by rapid foreign investment. Shenzhen has a population of 12 million, which is mainly made up of migrants. Due to the need of high traffic volume, Shenzhen remained wide space for its roads network when the city was built.

The intersection with five roads is an important and complex traffic node in this district. The traffic condition is quite challenging for pedestrian and cyclists. A safer environment for all users is strongly expected. Due to the great amount of rainfall during summer, the city is in need of better stormwater management infrastructure. The site has good opportunity to direct overflow since it’s located between a hill and the sea.
